Do Something… Do Something Good

Tuesday, September 11, 2001 began like any other day. People woke up, ate breakfast, went to work, brought their kids to school and boarded planes. Some were traveling for business, some for pleasure and some to visit family or friends. It was just another ordinary day… until it wasn’t.

Four California-bound planes departing from the eastern states were hijacked in a heinous attack on Americans. The Islamic terror group, al Qaeda, took immediate credit for orchestrating the coordinated attack under the leadership of Osama bin Laden. Terrorists crashed American Flight 11 and United Flight 175 into Manhattan’s World Trade Center towers. The third plane, American Flight 77, was flown into the Pentagon. Plans for the fourth plane, United Flight 93, intended for a target in Washington, D.C. were foiled when passengers overtook the hijackers, gained control of the plane and crashed it into the ground in an empty field near Sharksville, Pennsylvania. read more

Happy Play Music on the Porch Day!

“What if for one day everything stopped…and we all just listened to the music?”

Happy Play Music on the Porch Day!

Born as a simple idea out of the imagination of LA-based artist, Brian Mallman, the first Play Music on the Porch Day was commemorated in 2013.  To learn more about Mr. Mallman and the founding of Play Music on the Porch Day, read his interview with Tone Mob.

Now, if you’re wondering how to celebrate this auspicious occasion,  just go outdoors and play some music! Do it alone or with your friends. Gather on your porch or anywhere. Record a video and share it on social media with this hashtag:  #PlayMusicOnThePorch. Not much of a musician or singer? No problem. Take a break from your TO DO list, relax and enjoy music played by others like Angels in Heaven, performed by Abby the Spoon Lady and Chris Rodrigues which was filmed on Abby’s front porch on August 26, 2017 during the 5th Annual Play Music on the Porch Day. read more
